Two arrests in the past two days have resulted in people facing serious charges coming before a judge in Pictou provincial court.
On Tuesday at 4 p.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of New Glasgow Regional Police, arrested a 40-year-old man and 28-year-old woman after executing a search warrant at a residence on Grandview Avenue in Trenton.
The man is facing multiple drug-related charges including trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, production, obstructing police, and possession of a prohibited weapon. The woman is facing one count of possession and obstructing police. Both people have been released from custody and will appear in Pictou provincial court at a later date.
On Wednesday at 2 p.m., the same police unit, with the assistance of the Stellarton Police Service and the New Glasgow Regional Police, arrested a 26-year-old man for break and enter into a residence on Terrace Avenue, Stellarton.
The man has been charged with break and enter, theft, and possession of stolen property. He made a brief court appearance Friday in Pictou provincial court and will continue to be held in custody until a bail hearing takes place next week.
