Two people were taken to the Aberdeen Hospital with non life threatening injuries following a collision at approximately 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of East River Road and Washington Street, New Glasgow.
New Glasgow Regional Police, along with the New Glasgow Fire Department and Emergency Health Services responded to the two motor vehicle collision.
The collision involved a 47-year-old female with a 19-year-old female passenger, driving a 2014 Mazda car. The second vehicle involved a 2017 Toyota car driven by a 59-year-old female with a 16-year-old female passenger. Both vehicles collided near the East River Road and Washington Street intersection.
The 47-year-old female driver and the 19-year-old female passenger of the 2014 Mazda car were transported to Aberdeen Hospital by EHS for non life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the 2017 Toyota car were not injured.
Both vehicles suffered substantial damage and had to be towed from the scene.
East River Road was closed in both directions for approximately 45 minutes.
New Glasgow Regional Police are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
