NEW GLASGOW

The boys and girls at the Westside after-school program in New Glasgow were very excited to learn the grand total for all their efforts during November and December.

Over the past months, the children have been bringing in money earned by doing “extras” at home, or donating their allowances, to help raise money to make Christmas a little happier for some other children who are less fortunate.

Children were surprised and excited to learn that all the little bits added up through the generosity of the children and families of the Westside Program to a grand total of $400 to help other families.

The names of two children, a boy and a girl, were chosen from the “Angel Tree” at the Highland Square Mall. The nametags gave a list of items those children were hoping to receive for Christmas. The money raised was more than enough to purchase the items the children requested.

In addition, after making these purchases, there was some money left to donate to A.G. Baillie School to be used to help families from the school.
