WESTVILLE ROAD
Police are looking for any information on a robbery that took place early on the morning of June 13 on Westville Road.
At approximately 1:46 a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a call of a robbery at the Comfort Inn at 740 Westville Rd. near the Highland Square Mall.
Staff told police a man entered the lobby through the front door, approached the front desk and demanded cash, threatening staff with a knife.
The suspect subsequently fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Const. Ken MacDonald with the New Glasgow Regional Police said nobody was hurt in the incident, and that the preliminary stages of an investigation are underway.
“This kind of thing – any type of robbery – is a rare occurrence,” said MacDonald.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately between 5’5’’ and 5’9’’ tall, with a small build. The suspect was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark sunglasses. Information released from the New Glasgow Regional Police described the suspect as dangerous, and advised the public not to approach him.
