Monday Music in Alma announces its October concert will feature local musician, Steven Auld.

Auld is Pictou County proud, born and raised. The singer songwriter has a wide range of musical influences and taste. Some of his songwriting styles are abstract and unconventional while others are deeply rooted in old-time country and blues. Storytelling and the occasional joke usually accompany his performances.

He says music was in his life since the first days he can recall, sitting at his grandfather’s feet watching and listening. Along with his solo songwriting, Auld is also the front man for local funk rock band Grooveback and has performed in the sell-out Pictou County Pop Classics shows.

For the concert in Alma, Auld is doing his solo act.

Gwen MacLean, series organizer, remembers meeting Auld first when he was a young student at Salt Springs School.

“He was a big, friendly, happy-going kid – smart too! You could always hear him on the playground! It’s no surprise he’s grown into a big, friendly man with a great big voice.”

The concert is at Green Hill – Alma United Church and start time is 7:30 pm. Admission is still only $10, or what you can afford.
