PICTOU – Pictou County District RCMP arrested a 21-year-old female and a 32-year-old male for impaired driving during the weekend.
Just after midnight on Oct. 14, RCMP were conducting a check stop in Alma and noted a vehicle attempting to avoid the stop. Subsequent investigation resulted in a 21-year-old female being arrested for impaired driving. She faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level over .08. She will appear in Pictou provincial court on Dec. 4.
On Oct. 15, police responded to a report of an ATV fire in Coalburn. Subsequent investigation resulted in the 32-year-old male operator of the ATV being arrested for impaired driving. He faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to provide a breath sample. He will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on Dec. 11.
