Pictou County RCMP investigate Linacy stabbing

The Southeast District RCMP is investigating following an off-road vehicle crash in Memramcook that left one man dead and another injured.

Two people have been arrested following the stabbing of a man on Merigomish Road in Linacy on Sunday, Sept. 16.

At approximately 7 p.m. on Sept. 16, Pictou District RCMP responded to an assault with a weapon at a home. When police arrived, they were told that an 18-year-old man had been stabbed several times by another unknown man. The suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle driven by a third man. The victim also departed the scene prior to police arrival.

RCMP officers located the suspect vehicle a short time later and arrested the 23-year-old driver and 31-year-old passenger, for assault with a weapon. Both men remain in custody.

The victim was located on Monday and police verified that he sustained stab wounds to his upper body, and he was offered medical treatment.
