A public hearing will be held in September for a development agreement on the land where John Brother MacDonald Stadium currently sits.
Council has entered into a sale agreement with PQ Properties for sale of the lot. The stadium will be coming down and PQ Properties intends to build 44 residential units comprised of six (6) units - single level grade buildings and two (4) unit buildings also single level at grade. A hearing will be held Sept. 24 in council chambers on the development agreement by PQ Properties.
Council for the Town of New Glasgow voted to demolish the long-empty stadium. At its June meeting, council approved recommendations to relocate the storm pipe in the stadium’s gravel parking lot, and to proceed with the purchase and sale agreement with PQ Properties.
