STELLARTON
The folks at the Stellarton library have been getting into the spirit of All Hallows Eve, and helping visitors get into the same Halloween spirit.
On Thursday night, the library hosted a pumpkin walk in the evening. Guests to the library brought their pre-carved pumpkins, and had them arranged just outside, along the sidewalk, making for a ghostly display.
“This is just a little special event to get the community involved in the library, in time for Halloween,” said library assistant Ellie Dale. “It’s basically just a way to celebrate Halloween together.”
Several young guests showed up for the activities, and before they embarked upon the pumpkin walk, they decorated Halloween cookies in spooky colours – like orange, white and black – and an assortment of other other ghostly toppings.
The youngsters who brought their pumpkins also got into the Halloween spirit through a story time, at which library clerk Leslie Chapman read them a number of Halloween-themed stories.
During the story time, Dale was outside arranging the jack-o-lanterns so that their phantasmal orange glow was most easily seen in spooky effect, arranged along the metal fence among the fallen leaves.
