Two New Glasgow residents were arrested for drug offences Tuesday night.
Around 9:30 p.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the New Glasgow Regional Police, executed a search warrant at a residence on Skylark Street as part of lengthy investigation.
Police seized a quantity of methamphetamine, cannabis marijuana, and cannabis resin. Subsequently, police arrested a 37-year-old woman from New Glasgow.
Shortly after, police completed a traffic stop of a motor vehicle on Main Street, Trenton. As a result of this stop, police seized a quantity of methamphetamine and a prohibited weapon. They arrested the 38-year-old male driver, also from New Glasgow.
The woman has been charged with three counts of trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, production of cannabis resin, possession of cannabis marijuana, and assaulting police.
The male has been charged with three counts of trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, production of cannabis resin, possession of cannabis marijuana, and possession of a prohibited weapon. Both remain in custody and will appear in court at a later date.
