One man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries Monday evening following a single vehicle crash on the Trans Canada 104 in Salt Springs Pictou County.
The crash resulted in an extended closure of the highway. The collision occurred at 8:10 p.m., and involved an eastbound car that lost control and left the roadway between Exits 18 and 19. The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was ejected, and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and later transported via LifeFlight for further treatment.
Highway 104 was closed between Exits 18 and 19 from the time of the collision into Tuesday morning. An RCMP collision analyst attended the scene to examine it for evidence. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
