RIVERTON - Students who attend Dr. W.A. MacLeod School are getting another day off, as the school is remaining closed for classes again today. The school is anticipated to reopen on Wednesday.
According to information released by the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board, the school is being kept closed due to ongoing restoration work. The work taking place is rectifying damage to the building from last week’s storm.
“Initially, it was a roof leak,” said Jo-Ann Jarvis-Jordan, the executive assistant to the superintendent. “But then, they found out there was more damage than they first realized; so it had to be closed for another day.”
At the time The News contacted Jarvis-Jordan, the leak was still in the process of being repaired.
