Elwin Gerard Layes

Layes, Elwin Gerard, 71 of Dartmouth passed away August 14, 2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Antigonish he was a son of the late Duncan and Mary (Farrell) Layes. He is survived by his estranged wife the former Marie (Babin), daughters: Angela (John)Fraser, Abercrombie; Caroline (Greg) Page, Moncton; a grandson Sean, brothers: Thomas “Tommy” (Sandy), Carstairs, AB; Duncan (Bev), Ontario; sisters-in-law: Lynn Layes, Halifax; Helen Layes, Antigonish; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Duncan and Mary Layes and a brother Andre. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held 2 p.m. Thursday August 30, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Barrett Clare-Johnson presiding. www.angusfuneralhomes.com
