Northern Pulp should invest in renovating their equipment to use less water, as the closed-loop effluent pulp waste method is proven to use significantly less water – as at Meadow Lake, Sask., where it’s in use! There is a solution, and the cost of over $130 million to the Nova Scotia government just to clean up Boat Harbour proves that pulp and paper companies are invested in our Canadian resources primarily for the financial return!
Before discounting the closed loop solution already, the engineers should consider investigating further as to why it does work, and perhaps seriously consider working on a solution! Honestly, is that not why employers pay people such as engineers to find solutions.

Whatever employment I worked in, whether optical equipment sales, engineering and architectural supplies or being self-employed meant I had to solve the issues for clients or the clients simply went elsewhere!

“Only believe, whatever your mind can conceive it can achieve!” This applies to engineers as well those hired for the purpose of finding solutions! To protect Nova Scotia’s marine, fishing and tourism industries, the only really acceptable green-energy solution is not to endanger or in any way cause harm to the province’s beautiful ‘Ocean Playground,’ so fishermen who make their living on the produce of the sea, as well as tourists from every part of our globe can enjoy Nova Scotia for generations to come!

I lived in Regina, where the city water had to be pumped in from over 80 kilometres away at Buffalo Pound Park near Moose Jaw. There is not a lot of water in the Prairies so I realized how really precious and truly a valuable resource such as clean water for drinking and washing really is. It’s vital to our existence as well as to all living beings, animal, marine, birds, etc.

May creative wisdom-based solutions abound in our minds to resolve this issue!

Thank you to Canada’s leaders who work to find green energy solutions!
