Imagine if you had nowhere to sleep tonight, nothing to eat, nowhere to take a shower! Just go a few minutes thinking of the reality of that!
People don't become homeless because they want to. It is often a lot of unfortunate circumstances that happen, like an illness, lost job, mental health issues, addiction or leaving an unhealthy home life to name a few!
Homelessness can be dangerous. It makes a person very vulnerable, being outside in the elements, and consider who they might run into at night! Couch surfing is common and can be a high risk for being put in an unsafe situation!
When we moved to Pictou County it stood out to us how generous people are about helping people when there is an illness or they’re in some kind crisis! Well this is a crisis for the people it is happening to!!
I am asking the people of Pictou County to make a donation to help open and operate the homeless shelter! Let's do the right thing and show some compassion and kindness! All lives matter!
