We are saddened to announce that our founder and leader, Jonathan G. Dean, informed us on Jan. 2 that he intends to step down as leader. He will also be resigning from the party executive, leaving the association and turning in his membership.
This will be completed by noon, Wednesday, Jan. 10. He has graciously offered to stay on as leader until then to assist the party and he will remain informally available as needed.
For over a decade Jonathan has fought for his vision of a far better Nova Scotia, from the street corners to the leader’s debate and every place in between. The fight is between real substantive change versus the status-quo. Jonathan knows Nova Scotia can have an incredible future: a ‘have province’ financially independent from Upper Canada, a prosperous province that our kids and families will move back to and strong and true democracy where the citizen has the final say.
Mr. Dean tirelessly promoted these fundamental ideals by forming the current Atlantica Party on June 28 of 2016.
Despite not having a single elected MLA, Mr. Dean’s vision is permeating and influencing the rest of the political landscape.
Jonathan will continue to fight for the vision.
We wish Mr. Dean all the best in future, and thank him for all the hard work and resources he put into help build the Atlantica Party of Nova Scotia.
