Last month at the Stellarton Legion, a benefit was held for our daughter Dali Layne.
Due to breathing issues and other complications, she has been at the IWK since she was born on Jan. 20. The benefit was a success, and we were overwhelmed with the response from everyone.
I would like to thank my father for getting the ball rolling and handing it over to the people who really made it happen. Martha, Dawn, Faye, Florence, Lisa, Bev and Freddy: thank you so much for all your effort and hard work behind the scenes.
Without people like you giving so freely of your time and energy, events like this would not be possible.
We would also like to thank all the local businesses and artists who donated goods for the silent auction. Thank you to the Kinsmen and Kinettes, as they were quite generous to our family.
We would also like to recognize a local musician named Robert who, although he did not know us, took it upon himself to raise some money for us at music events he played at different venues around Pictou County.
Finally, we would like to thank all our family, friends and coworkers who have supported us throughout. The spirit of giving and wanting to help others in their time of need, even though you may not know them personally, is what is truly great about Pictou County.
