LETTER: Successful event for local affiliate

On behalf of the Pictou County Crohn’s and Colitis volunteer group, I would like to thank everyone involved for making the recent Gutsy Walk and Prize Bingo a great success.

It was a busy time, but we raised about $13,500 from these fundraisers to help with research for inflammatory bowel disease.

To those who donated, held pledge sheets, walked and helped out in any way, a big  thank you. Our thanks to the Town of New Glasgow, the West River Fire Hall, the local media and honorary chair Rebecca DeCoste. A special thanks to Craig Mercer and the Investors Group volunteers and the BellAliant Pioneers who assisted with registration. Thanks go to Lana MacEachern who took over the responsibilities of registration this year. The number of retail businesses, too many to name here, who provided support in many ways, we give thanks also. These businesses were noted and acknowledged at both functions.

The Pictou County Crohn’s and Colitis affiliate is a small but dedicated group, and it is only with the support of the good people of the county that we are able to raise these funds to help with finding a cause and cure for these diseases. Thank you all again.
