The Steve Nash Youth Basketball program finished up this past Sunday with a special skills competition and pizza party for all participants.

This is a national youth basketball program designed to develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and a love of the game that runs annually in Trenton. There was a great turn out this year with 102 participants registered from across Pictou County.

All of the athletes received a Steve Nash Youth basketball jersey, basketball, shoe bag, and poster. On Sunday, each participant received a certificate of achievement, a free root beer compliments of A&W and a free hour pass for the Trenton Park pool. Winners of the skills competition received Kid’s Meals compliments of Subway, Kid’s Safari Meals compliments of Jungle Jim’s, and gifts supplied by Cleve’s New Glasgow. After the competition the kids gathered to enjoy pizza from Alice’s Pizza, Washington Street, New Glasgow, and homemade chocolate chip cookie compliments of Made With Love Bakery.
