The Stellarton peewee AA Albions took home silver this past weekend, going 3-1 at the Sydney Invitational.
Friday night they opened the tournament with a 4-0 victory over the Glace Bay Colonels little league team. Scoring for the Albions were Kade Mason, Kaleb Clarke, Spencer Murray and Thomas Devine. The strong pitching of Murray, Logan MacKay and Mason kept the Colonels off the sheet.
On Saturday the Albions defeated the Sydney Sooners 16-6 to open the day. Luke MacLeod hit a double and a single, Wesley Kelly had a double and single, while Wayne Denny had two doubles and Mason picked up a double.
They made their way into the final with a 17-12 victory over the Prospect Mariners. Mackay was the top hitter with three singles, while Lucas Fraser reached base four times.
In the final they fell 5-1 to Glace Bay. Mason scored the lone run, while the top hitters were Luke Young, Jack Finley and Denny.
