STELLARTON – The 18th Annual Adopt-A-Library Literacy Program’s Slo-Pitch Ball Tournament will take place on June 3.

This fun friendly ‘non-competitive’ underhand tournament is an annual fundraising event. All proceeds raised will be used to support the purchase of books, prizes, and the Wow! Reading Challenge.

This year, the tournament will be held at the Dorrington Ball Fields in Stellarton. Several teams have already registered. There are several slots still open in the schedule for teams and anyone interested in playing is asked to email Const. John Kennedy at aal@parl.ns.ca, or call 755-6031 (toll-free 1-866-779-7761).

The cost for entering a team in the tournament is $200 (or $20 per person) and each team is guaranteed three games. The pitcher must be able to pitch at the ability level of the players participating, as some players may not have played baseball before.

The 18th annual tournament is sponsored by Walmart.
