TRENTON – The Pictou County Bantam A Crushers played a home-and home series against the Brookfield Elks last weekend, recording a pair of ties.
On Saturday afternoon in Trenton, the teams played to a 4-4 draw, then on Sunday in Brookfield the Crushers were finally able break a scoreless game with a goal midway through the third period. But they couldn't hold off Brookfield, who scored on a power play and with their net empty with 30 seconds left the teams settled for a 1-1 tie.
Scoring goals for the Crushers were Will Woolcock, Dawson MacKay, Isaac Willison, Reilly Grant and Dawson MacDonald.
This coming weekend, the Bantam A Crushers square off against the Antigonish Bulldogs in a pair of games with their home game on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.
