Bantam AA Crushers drop two versus Truro

NEW GLASGOW – The Pictou County Bantam AA Crushers had a home-and-home with the Truro Bearcats recently, starting in Truro.

In the opener, Chris Avery netted an unassisted goal early to get the Crushers on the board, but Truro tied the game minutes later for a 1-1 first period.

The Crushers were out-powered in the second as the Bearcats netted two unanswered goals. Pictou County worked hard to stay in the game with Truro up 4-1 in the third, then Ross Martin snapped a goal on a pass from Noah MacDonald to make it 4-2. The Bearcats added one more for a 5-2 final.

The second game proved to be much closer.

The first period was filled with fast-paced action and the goalies were at their best to keep the game scoreless in the first.

In the second period, Truro scored first on a lucky bounce over Jacob Frasers shoulder, but Jacoby Beadle tied the game up for Pictou County with an unassisted, short-handed goal.
