Bantam AA Crushers split games in Cape Breton tournament

MEMBERTOU, N.S. – The Pictou County Bantam AA went 2-2 at the Royal Canadian Legion Challenge Cup in Cape Breton this past weekend.

Pictou County won their first game on Friday morning against Strait Richmond 6-2 and later that day the Crushers faced Antigonish. The game got out of hand early ending in a 6-0 loss for Pictou County.

Saturday morning saw Pictou County come up short against CB County Islanders, losing 5-3, then in their final game against CB West, the Crushers held on for a 3-2 victory.

Scoring goals on the weekend for the Crushers were Myles Farnsworth (4), Jacoby Beadle (2) and singles by Ross Martin, Adam Farrell, Cam MacKinnon, Chris Avery, Tanner Steele and Ryan Denny.

Getting two assists each were Martin, Avery, Brent Chapman and Covey Cameron with singles from Dylan Kontuk, Adam Fraser, Noah MacDonald, Camden Kelly, Beadle, Farnsworth, Farrell, MacKinnon, Steele and Denny.

Jacob Fraser and Xander Vohs each went 1-1 in the Pictou County net.

Jacoby Beadle, Myles Farnsworth and Cam MacKinnon all got player of the game nods for the Crushers, who will play at Acadia on Saturday and Antigonish on Sunday.
