AMHERST

The Pictou County Bantam AA Crushers travelled to Amherst on Sunday hoping to put an end to their slump.

The game started off with fast paced, end-to end-action.

Ross Martin opened the scoring for the Crushers midway through the first but the Cumberland Ramblers would tie the game just 29 seconds later.

Cumberland pulled ahead, but Crushers fought hard to tie the game at 2-2 with 1:11 to go in the opening period, getting a goal from Jacoby Beadle.

The second period showed strong play by both teams; Ryan Denny netted a goal for the Crushers and the teams would go into the second intermission tied 3-3.

Halfway into the third, Cam MacKinnon scored to put the Crushers in the lead but the Ramblers tied the game with 5:46 to go in regulation. Pictou County killed off a penalty in the final minutes to keep the game at a 4-4 tie.

Assists went to MacKinnon (2), Myles Farnsworth (2) and singles went to Denny, Martin, Adam Farrell and Adam Fraser. Jacob Fraser had a sturdy show between the pipes.

The Bantam AA Crushers head to Truro on Sunday to take on the Bearcats.
