Fusion fastpitch team wins silver at Eastern Canadians

The Chabassol Bugden Group Fusion U-18 Female Fastpitch team won silver at the Eastern Canadian Fastpitch Championship held in St. John’s, N.L. from Aug. 21-24. The team is made up of players from the local Subway Stingers from the Stellarton and Area Minor Girls Softball Association and the Cole Harbour Comets.

The team went 3-3 in round-robin play to finish in second entering the playoff round. In the crossover game on Sunday the team defeated the Mount Uniacke Mustangs to advance to the championship game against Whitby Ontario. The Fusion was up 3-1 against Ontario in the bottom of the sixth but couldn’t hold the lead against the strong Ontario batters.
