WESTVILLE ROAD – Further eroding their dwindling playoff hopes, the Junior A Crushers lost 4-2 on Thursday to the Amherst Ramblers.

Trailing the Truro Bearcats by 10 points heading into the game against Amherst, the Crushers took an early lead on a goal credited to Marc Gagnon, but less than a minute later, the Ramblers would find themselves with the lead, as Liam Conrad and Jordan King scored goals just 15 seconds apart.

Conrad and Will Bower had second-period goals to put the Ramblers up by three, and while Alex Bonaparte scored before the end of the second period for Pictou County, the Crushers would get no closer.

Pictou County was in Woodstock on Friday night to play the Slammers and had a Saturday road game against the St. Stephen Aces.
