WESTVILLE ROAD – Two Maritime Female hockey powers will collide this weekend.
The defending female Midget AAA Nova Scotia champion Northern Selects have gone undefeated in six games this season and lead the Nova Scotia Female Midget Hockey League with 12 points.
They host the second place Miramichi Lightning this weekend for a pair of games. The Lightning are close behind in the standings with 10 points.
The weekend games are pivotal in terms of who will be atop the league standings on Sunday, as the league’s top two teams go head-to-head.
The first tilt goes Saturday at the Pictou County Wellness Centre at 3:30 p.m., while the teams will play on Sunday at the Hector Arena in Pictou, a game that has an 11 a.m. start time.
