Crushers lose 5-3, need a Saturday win to keep season alive
ANTIGONISH – The Amherst Ramblers will head home with a chance to put the Pictou County Crushers out of the Maritime Hockey League playoffs.
NEW GLASGOW - The Pictou County Weeks Crushers have dealt defenceman Evan MacEachern to the Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL) for forwards Madison Dunn and Mitchell Plevy.
MacEachern, a native of Bedford, will be entering his 19-year-old season in the fall. In 44 regular season games, he registered 18 points while adding three assists in seven postseason games. The blue-liner represented the MHL on Team Canada East at the 2013 World Jr. A Challenge in Yarmouth last fall.
Dunn spent the previous two seasons with the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL, posting 57 points in 97 regular season games as well as eight points in 20 postseason games. Dunn was a member of the Bandits squad that captured the RBC Cup in Summerside in 2013.
Plevy appeared in 45 regular season games with the Chiefs last season, scoring once and adding nine assists. Dunn recently completed his 18-year-old season in the AJHL, while Plevy finished his 17-year-old campaign.
