Comeback falls short in 6-5 Crushers’ loss  

TRURO - A Pictou County Crushers comeback bid fell short on Saturday in Truro against the Bearcats, in a 6-5 loss.

The Crushers spotted Truro a four-goal lead in the first period.

The Crushers have a 9-2-1 record, all three losses to the Bearcats.

Goals from Brandon Hughes, Denver Lynds, Zach Moody and Kyle Tibbo produced a 4-0 lead for the ’Cats, before Oliver Trachsel replied just before the end of the first.

Alex Bonaparte, Mack Derraugh and Nick Fewer scored in the second for Pictou County; Tibbo and Nate Leger countered for Truro.

Brian MacDougall had a goal for Pictou County in the third.

The Crushers will host the St. Stephen Aces on Thursday.
