Michael Dill netted the overtime winner and also set up three others as the Crushers came back from a 4-2 deficit with three goals in the final period, only to see Yarmouth force OT on a goal by Noah McMullin with 2:34 left in regulation.

Dill, a second-year Crusher, has 37 assists on the season, leading the Maritime Hockey League in that category. His tap-in goal in overtime came from a Bradley Kennedy setup.

“The first two periods were back and forth with lots of penalties,” Dill said. “In the third, we were able to play our game five-on-five and eventually tie it and win in overtime. It was a great team effort.”

Ethan Marsh scored twice for Pictou County. Bradley Kennedy had a goal and two assists, while Keven Larouche and Jake Hickey also scored for the Crushers.

Also scoring for the Mariners were Connor Peveril, Matt Barron, Max Robitaille and Andrew Martell.

Pictou County (25-6-1) are four points ahead of the Truro Bearcats in the South Division standings and five up on Yarmouth (22-9-3). The Crushers are at South Shore to play the Lumberjacks on Wednesday in a makeup game and entertain the St. Stephen Aces the next night.
