WESTVILLE ROAD - The Junior A Crushers rallied late and salvaged a point in a 4-3 overtime loss on Friday to the Yarmouth Mariners.

The game had a see-saw ending; with the teams tied at 2-2, Yarmouths Derrick Johnson scored at 18:50 of the third period to give his team a lead.

But a mere 24 seconds later, Crushers captain Michael Dill scored to force overtime, where Logan Timmons ended it in the Mariners favour in the three-on-three extra session.

Nick Jessome and Jaden Mason had the other Crusher goals, Matt Smith and Brent Broaders countered for Yarmouth.

The Crushers, who went 2-1-1 in their final four games prior to the holiday break, are tied with the Valley Wildcats for fifth place in the South Division, although Pictou County has a game in hand.
