Five local Pictou County hockey players left on Aug. 6 for the New England Sports Center in Massachusetts to compete in the Boston Challenge Cup with the P.E.I. Prospects hockey team.

They won their first two games of the tournament, but lost the third. That was good enough to get them into the crossovers on Sunday morning. They started off slow and ran into a hot goaltender and ended up losing in the crossover game.

The Pictou County boys represented their county well as the P.E.I. Prospects team scored 14 goals in the tournament, with the county boys accounting for nine of those goals.
