MONCTON - The Pictou County Weeks Major Midgets lost a quarterfinal game at the Monctonian Challenge on Sunday.

The locals dropped a 4-0 decision to Dartmouth Steele Subaru on Sunday morning, ending an impressive run for Weeks that saw them go 3-0 in the round robin before they beat TriPen Osprey (Newfoundland & Labrador) 8-1 in their first playoff game.

Against TriPen, Justin Hardie, Ben Fraser and Blake Kontuk each had two goals, Carson Lanceleve and Rowan Sears also scored.

Meanwhile, the Pictou County Wear Well Major Bantam Bombers finished with a 1-1-1 mark in the Bantam AAA division, after edging Central Attack (P.E.I.) by a 2-1 margin on Friday night. Dave Matthews and Landon Sim had the goals for the Bombers.

The annual Monctonian Challenge attracts Major Bantam and Major Midget teams from Atlantic Canada, Quebec and Ontario.
