The local hockey team faced Dalbrae Academy in the championship game of the 10th annual memorial tournament.

Colin Holmes racked up the most goals in the game with three, while Robert Burrows added two. Jacob Pentz, Jared Livingstone and Noah Teed each had one.

Coach Tim Robertson said the team played well all weekend, noting that North Nova won by several goals in each game.

They’re an offensive, physical team, he said, pointing to that as one of their strengths.

Last year, the team captured silver in the tournament.

Hosting team Northumberland Regional High School won their game against SAERC Saints 6-1 on Friday, later losing to Dalbrae 3-8.

North Nova came out on top in Friday’s game against Dalbrae 7-2 and 9-3 against SAERC on Saturday.

Scores of the other games weren’t immediately available.
