PICTOU – The fifth annual Lobster Cup is about to get real as professional wrestlers prepare to return to the Hector Arena in Pictou to prove their worth.

All four of the previous winners – Riddick Stone, Kowboy Mike Hughes, American Patriot and Kirk Aube – are vying for their chance to come out on top as the true Maritime competitor.

The Pictou Lobster Carnival fundraiser will also feature Newfoundland’s hottest tag team, Da By’s as well as Pictou County’s own Lincoln Steen, The East Coast Predator Titus, the mysterious Black Mamba and maybe even an appearance of Lochie the Lobster.

“This is a great fundraiser,” says Shawn McNamara, chair of the carnival.

“It’s very rare that wrestling comes to Pictou County, so to be able to put on a family-friendly event like this that really entertains the crowd is great. We are very excited about this year’s matchups.”

Advance tickets can be purchased in Pictou at Woody’s Variety, Millside General Store, Miller’s Dairy Bar and East End Grocery, Lyons Brook Rite Stop and in New Glasgow at Big Al’s. Advance tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for seniors (65+) and youth 12 years of age and younger. All tickets at the gate are $20. For more information or to book ringside or group ticket packages, message the Pictou Lobster Carnival on Facebook.
