Major Bantam Bombers get two wins on the weekend

WESTVILLE ROAD - The Pictou County Wear Well Major Bantam Bombers dominated the Dartmouth Whalers on Sunday afternoon in a 6-0 whitewash.

Thomas Gariepy made 19 saves in the Pictou County net, while Ryan Green had two goals and set up another for the Bombers, who improved their won-loss record to 11-8-23, in 22 games played this season in the Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League. Also getting goals were Cale MacLaughlin, David Matthews, Landon Sim and Lucas Canning.

It was the second win in as many days for the Bombers; in game played Saturday at the Halifax Forum, the Bombers got two goals and an assist from Maclean Tobin to beat ACCEL Hawks 6-5.

Also getting goals for Pictou County were Thomas Schnare, Green, David Matthews and Canning. Matt Carson picked up three assists.

The Hawks had trailed 5-4 but tied it with 1:13 remaining, before Tobins second of the contest, coming with 58 seconds to go, would be the eventual winner.
