Major Bantams go 1-1 in weekend play

WESTVILLE ROAD – The Pictou County Wear Well Major Bantam Bombers split a pair of games on the weekend.

The Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League club took it on the chin Saturday at St. Margarets Bay Arena, losing 7-1 to The Gulls, with Matt Carson scoring the only goal of the game for Pictou County.

On Saturday at the Pictou County Wellness Centre, the Bombers beat the Harbour Storm in a 4-3 final. Matt Carson and David Matthews each had a goal and an assist, while Calvin Denny and Landon Sim also had goals. Ryan Green had three assists and goaltender Thomas Gariepy made 23 saves in the Bombers net.

The Bombers are 13-10-4 this season.
