The Joe Earle Victoria Day Road Races will mark their 45th anniversary on May 18 in?Trenton. Racing begins at 9:30 a.m., with the Baxter MacArthur Memorial men's open mile. The Gloria Clark memorial women's open mile is scheduled for 9:50 a.m., with various children's age groups set for throughout the morning. At 11:35 a.m., the five-mile run will take place in a variety of categories.
In total, there will be 27 races or categories to be decided along the roads of the Steeltown. Applicant's ages are determined as of the day of the race, and there is no entry fee for particiants. Trophies will be provived to all race winners, and racing should wrap up around noon. Dinner will take place at the Trenton rink a half-hour after the running is finished, with the awards ceremony to follow.
Young runners can also compete for the Courtney Malcolm Award, which will crown a school champion based on individual runner's results during the races.
