HALIFAX – Cole Butcher picked up his first victory of the season at the Cummins 150 Saturday at Scotia Speedworld.

Butcher took the lead from Truro’s Dylan Blenkhorn for the final time on Lap 94 and stretched his lead over the final 57 green flag laps to take his first victory of the year. Blenkhorn would finish second, followed by Craig Slaunwhite, Shawn Turple and Jarrett Butcher. Only the top five cars finished on the lead lap.

Four heat races set the starting grid for the Cummins 150. Cole Butcher, Blenkhorn, Greg Proude and Cory Hall all picked up wins in the 10 lap heats. Hall was behind the wheel for King Racing of Pictou.

The race was slowed by four caution periods and took 58 minutes to complete.
