Highs and lows for Westville Boxing Academy

Duke Davis failed in his bid to win the Maritime superheavyweight amateur boxing championship on Saturday night, dropping a split decision to Pierre Oulette in Saint John, N.B.. The Westville Academy fared quite well on the card, winning four of seven bouts. Bobby Harris outslugged opponent Wesley Moore, Mike McGrath picked up a win against Tyrell Vail, Liam Frazier stopped Mandy Smith and Matt Woodworth topped Josh Cummings for the Academy's victories.

SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Duke Davis failed in his bid to win the Maritime superheavyweight amateur boxing championship on Saturday night, dropping a split decision to Pierre Oulette in Saint John, N.B..

The Westville Academy fared quite well on the card, winning four of seven bouts. Bobby Harris outslugged opponent Wesley Moore, Mike McGrath picked up a win against Tyrell Vail, Liam Frazier stopped Mandy Smith and Matt Woodworth topped Josh Cummings for the Academy's victories.

Eleven-year-old Zack Ward lost his first bout to Scott Cooper in a close fight and Travis Leil fell to Mitch Boudreau to round out the Westville performances.
