WESTVILLE ROAD – The Pictou County PeeWee A Red Crushers continue their amazing season, going undefeated recently to win the Port Hawkesbury Paper March Break Tournament Friday in Strait Richmond.

It was the fourth tournament this team has participated in and their fourth gold medal.

They continued their winning efforts this past weekend with a 5-1 win over the Sydney Steelers at the Membertou Sports and Wellness Centre, as the two sides battled for the North Conference championship.

The Crushers opened scoring in the first period with goals from Brady Croft and Amias Crossman, with assists from Croft, Cameron Munroe and Corbin MacDonnell. The Steelers scored early in the second to make it 2-1, but the Crushers answered right back with another goal by Crossman, assisted by Lucus MacDonald and Croft.

The Crushers dominated play in the third scoring two more unanswered goals: Munroe from Croft, and Crossman with his third, on a setup from Munroe. Ethan MacLaren stood tall between the pipes allowing only one goal in a stellar performance, and made a pair of unbelievable glove saves in the last minute of play.

The Peewee A Red Crushers head to the Day of Champions April 8 in Truro.
