WESTVILLE ROAD – Peewee A Crushers (White) defeated the Truro Bearcats 6-1 in the second game of the best of three series, eliminating the Bearcats from the playoffs.
Leading the Crushers were Jake Henderson and Garrett Williams with two goals apiece, Kaleb Melanson and Harley Clark adding singles. Assists came from Carter Dauphinee (2), Evan Stewart (2), Henderson (2), Porter McNamara, Ethan Mackay, Cameron Pitts and Clarke.
Winning goalie was Aiden Turnbull. The two Crusher teams will now face each other in a two out of three battle to see who advances to take on Cape Breton.
On Saturday morning, the Crushers visited Truro for Game 1, with Pictou County defeating the Bearcats 9-2. Leading the way for the Crushers was Danial Seymour with four goals, Ethan MacKay had a pair, while Dauphinee, Henderson and Pitts all added singles. Assists came from Evan Stewart (3), MacKay (2), Garrett Williams (2,) Pitts (2). Dauphinee, Seymour, Archie Meier, Clarke, Luke Hayman and Henderson all had single helpers.
The winning goalie was Ben Verge.
