TRENTON

After a loss Friday to Antigonish, the Pictou County Scotians will attempt to get another win streak going on Sunday.

The lost 4-1 Friday night against the Bulldogs and play the Liverpool Privateers on Sunday at Trenton rink (7 p.m. start time). It will be the first meeting between last years playoff finalists.

The Bulldogs (9-11-2) have won four of their past five to creep past the Pirates in the standings with 20 points, but are well back of the Scotians, who with a 13-3-4 mark are 10 points better than Antigonish and have taken a tight grip on second place in the Sid Rowe Division.

Scotians coach Brandon Verge said the Bulldogs are playing a very tight, good defensive system (and) if we move the puck like we can and find the open guy, we will get our chances. We just need to capitalize.

Injured forward Jeremy McFarlane was not expected to play Friday – the Scotians top goal-getter could play on Sunday – and Lucas Rushton is also out with injury.

Verge said goaltender Michael Binczyk, coming off a 51-save night against the Pirates last Sunday in his Scotians debut, would play in Antigonish, with Blake Meech starting in the net on Sunday.
