The Pictou County Junior Scotians lost 4-3 in a shootout to the East Hants Penguins on Sunday.
In a Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League game played at Trenton rink, Jeremy McFarlane scored twice and set up another by Jacob Pentz before the Penguins settled things in a shootout after five minutes of overtime.
Adam Perruzza, Lucio Williams and Quinn MacDonald scored for East Hants, who were outshot 54-36 by their hosts as Scotians goalie Blake Meech and his East Hants counterpart Ryan Huestis faced a barrage of pucks in their respective nets.
Last Friday in Springhill, the Scotians beat the Cumberland County Blues 6-3.
Pentz had a goal and two assists, while Will Kelly, Kirklin Murray, Ian Keating, Dustin Culberson and Dylan Albright also scored. Ryan MacDonald picked up a pair of helpers.
Scoring for the Blues were Hayden Boutilier (2) and Kansas Hart.
Pictou County (9-3-4) are at the Cole Harbour Colts on Friday and home to the Valley Maple Leafs next Sunday.
