Stellarton will be showing its support for local athlete Blayre Turnbull, who is participating in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
“Residents around town are eager to do something for Blayre Turnbull, for her being in the Olympics, to show their support,” said Coun. Simon Lawand.
Lawand suggested a guest book be brought to the Stellarton town hall and post office, so people could sign and show their support for Turnbull. Lawand bought a guestbook, bringing it to the council meeting.
Mayor Danny MacGillivray was supportive of the idea, saying that council will include a signed Stellarton town flag, to be delivered as a gift to Turnbull, upon her return.
