If you order in food but cannot go pick it up from the restaurant then fear not, as a new company from Truro will do it for you.

Truro-based Done Rite Delivery recently opened a satellite office in town and offers both restaurant and fast food deliveries, online grocery orders from the Real Atlantic Superstore, liquor store runs and general errands.

“We were looking for the ideal spot for a second location and we realized after going to New Glasgow and staying at the hotels there was really no effective delivery service,” said owner Joe Dunlap.

His business is aimed towards people who may have difficulty going to stores or restaurants themselves, such as seniors or those living with disabilities.

When ordering from restaurants partnered with Done Rite Delivery, a customer will place their order and then have it delivered by Dunlap’s team. A similar setup exists for local online shoppers who can choose a time slot for their deliveries.

The company currently delivers for Greco, Pizza Delight, The Dragon Bowl, Joe Chow’s and Swiss Chalet. With those businesses, the customer can call directly and the restaurant will call Done Rite to deliver. Dunlop said those who want something picked up from elsewhere that are not currently using Done Rite, they have to call in the order to the restaurant and then the customer has to call Done Rite to pick it up for them.

Dunlap said that demand for his service is high in New Glasgow but they are pondering further expansion, possibly to Elmsdale near the Halifax airport.

“We’re probably looking at another location by the end of the year,” said Dunlap.

He hopes that Done Rite Delivery will stay in New Glasgow for a long time to come, and described his business model as “unique.”
