Henderson Paris will be honorary chair of Glen Haven Manor’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

will be held in the coming months to recognize the long-term care facility’s golden milestone and will lead up to a grand finale on the anniversary date of Oct. 27, 2019. Paris will join the anniversary committee consisting of Glen Haven leadership, residents, staff and family representatives.

“We are thrilled to have Henderson in this special role for our golden anniversary and were delighted that he accepted our invitation,” says CEO Lisa Smith. “As a former chair of the Glen Haven Manor Board of Directors, as a family member to a past resident and as a community leader, Henderson brings great understanding and many insights regarding the multi-dimensional facets of Glen Haven Manor, its residents and employees. He is well known as a person who has been a champion of dignity and respect his entire life and is representative of our core values in action.”

She said the anniversary will be an occasion to remember the generations of residents who called and are proud to call Glen Haven home

“Our residents have contributed and continue to contribute so much to communities across Nova Scotia along with the thousands of employees who have provided quality care with a great dedication to the residents and to Glen Haven as a major employer in the region for 50 years,” she said.

Paris says he is looking forward to his role as honorary chair and towards working with the Glen Haven committee and team to create a most memorable and meaningful celebration.

“Glen Haven Manor has always held a special place in my heart,” says Paris. “My mother in law spent many happy years at Glen Haven. It is home to the pioneers and pillars of our community and communities across our province and we owe these residents a great debt. I have long admired the outstanding quality of care that Glen Haven offers to our elders and others with high level care needs and am grateful for the great opportunity I have had to learn about and appreciate the amazing work delivered by so many incredible individuals who have given exceptional care with professionalism, dedication and compassion. I am humbled and deeply honoured to be a part of these festivities.”
