NEW GLASGOW, N.S. – Mark your calendars, check your wallet and make your plans.
The third biennial Pictou County 4-H auction is back. This year’s fundraising auction will take place upstairs at the Pictou Legion on Saturday, April 27, beginning at 7 p.m.
As in past auctions, there will be a wide array of items to bid on and services provided by 4-H members, including yard work and meals/food.
In 2018, a new multi-use Legacy Building was constructed to complement the Dr. J. Allan MacKay livestock building on the Exhibition grounds. Pictou County 4-H is creating a fund for care and maintenance of the facilities.
Funds from the auction will also help the organization to carry out many activities and programs provided to the 250-plus 4-H members in the county. The event is being supported by the Royal Bank, with staff from the bank helping with the clerking and cashier duties at the auction and topping up proceeds raised with a cash donation.
A $5 admission will get you a bidding card, a cup of tea, coffee or juice and a homemade dessert.
4-H members, leaders and parents have been busy for some time gathering items for the auction. The auctioneer will be Tim Parker.
For any further details contact Ruby MacKenzie or any 4-H leader in the county.
