June 13, 2019 has been a long time coming for the 280 graduating students of NSCC Pictou Campus. Convocation took place at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.

“What a spectacular day,” said 2019 Pictou Campus valedictorian Cody Reddick. “It feels good, let me tell you.”

Reddick finishes 2019 with his diploma in Welding Inspection and Quality Control. In his speech he took time to thank the faculty at NSCC for helping him get to graduation day, and he urged his peers to follow suit.

“I strongly urge, to everyone here today dressed like me, to do the same because without the help of these special people, we wouldn’t be here right now,” said Reddick.

“This year we have all had some bad days, headaches hardships, early mornings and late nights. But it’s summer time, and we are walking out of here today with either a certificate or a diploma. It’s time to do what we’ve been waiting to do since the thought first came to mind.”

There are 4500 students graduating from NSCC campuses across Nova Scotia in 2019.
